With the development of information technology and data networks, significant new opportunities have emerged for the operation and development of business, but along with them the threat of cyber attacks has grown, and these are categorised today as «highly probable and significant». In 2015 Axelos, which is also the vendor of the ITIL methodology, developed and proposed a set of practices for the comprehensive organisation and construction of enterprise information security systems — Cyber Resilience Best Practices (RESILIA). Cyber resilience — is the ability of systems or components to withstand unplanned failures or disruptions, and to recover within a defined period of time should such an event occur.

This approach is well integrated with and ideally complements the service life cycle described in ITIL, so its application makes it fairly easy and quick to adapt the processes already existing in the company to ensure the required levels of information security.

The «RESILIA Foundation» training, lasting 3 days (24 academic hours), examines the organisation of an effective information security management system, including the risk management model and related standards. As a result of the training, participants gain the necessary knowledge and practical skills to effectively organise the information security system in the company. The training focuses mostly on organising the information security management system and bringing it into line with current requirements, and to a lesser extent on the technical aspects of information security.

Training objectives:

— To form a holistic view of information security and resilience management (the ability of systems and services to recover after a critical failure).

— To learn to formulate information security requirements as a derivative and integral part of business requirements, identifying the critical factors for achieving a balance between security requirements and the cost of meeting them.

— To learn to organise and use the risk management system as a whole and information security risk management in particular, increasing the effectiveness of work on implementing (improving) the risk management system at the customer's enterprise.

— To form a concept of comprehensive information security and resilience management throughout the service life cycle.

Target audience:

— employees responsible for organising, designing and implementing policies and systems that ensure information security;

— senior and middle IT management, to become familiar with the general principles of this organisation;

— consultants and specialists involved in planning and implementing the information security management system at enterprises.

Prerequisites.

For effective learning on this course it is strongly recommended to complete the «ITIL v.3 Foundation» course beforehand. Knowledge and some practical experience in organising information security and (or) knowledge of the technical aspects of information security are also welcome.
