Programme goal:
Training managers and specialists in the principles and methods of building a NON-FORMAL, risk-based occupational health and safety management system (OH&S MS) in accordance with the international standard ISO 45001:2018, one that will genuinely help to reduce workplace risks and increase the company's resilience by covering the following areas in the training:
— Reducing injuries and occupational diseases — by identifying, analysing and managing hazards and risks at workplaces
— Raising the level of occupational safety — introducing preventive measures, systematic incident analysis and incident-based training
— Optimising occupational safety processes — eliminating duplicated functions, introducing modern control and monitoring tools
— Increasing the effectiveness of internal monitoring — moving from formal checks to a risk-based approach in planning and conducting internal audits of the OH&S MS
— Compliance with the requirements of regulators and certification bodies — fewer violations, fines and nonconformities in inspections and certification audits
— Improving the quality of management decisions — using risk analysis data and occupational safety KPIs to develop strategic and tactical decisions
— Strengthening the company's reputation — demonstrating care for employees' health and safety within ESG and sustainable development policy
Objectives:
— Examine the requirements of the ISO 45001:2018 standard
— Master methods of identifying, analysing and managing risks in occupational health and safety
— Learn to apply algorithmic tools (SWOT, PEST, «Porter's 5 Forces») to define the organisation's context from the OH&S point of view
— Develop a risk-based model of OH&S MS processes
— Study methods of quantitative risk assessment (Monte Carlo simulation, the scoring model, the Tornado diagram)
— Build a system of KPIs (by process) and key safety indicators (KRIs)
— Learn to plan and conduct risk-based internal audits of the OH&S MS (ISO 19011)
— Consolidate the knowledge gained in practical cases, group work and interactive games
Skills developed:
— Strategic thinking in occupational safety — the ability to link the company's strategy to safety objectives and indicators
— The process approach — structuring and describing business processes in OH&S taking the requirements of ISO 45001 into account
— Risk management — mastering methods of identifying, analysing, evaluating and treating risks related to occupational health and safety
— Making decisions based on quantitative risk assessment — improving the quality of planning occupational safety measures
— Auditing skills — conducting internal audits of the OH&S MS in accordance with ISO 19011
— Evaluating OH&S MS performance — monitoring KPIs and KRIs, analysing nonconformities and corrective actions
— Working with interested parties — taking into account the requirements of employees, regulators and society when building the occupational safety management system
Using artificial intelligence tools — mastering the skills of applying AI for analysing, planning and documenting processes; participants are given a ready-made prompt that they can use independently in their further work
Criteria for participation in the programme:
Target audience and the value of participation for each group:
— Heads of structural units (business process owners) — integrating occupational safety requirements into the company's business processes, better risk manageability
— Occupational health and safety specialists and managers — mastering new methods of assessing and minimising risks
— Internal auditors — moving from formal checks to a risk-based approach in conducting internal audits
— Sustainable development and corporate governance managers — integrating health and safety issues into the company's ESG practice
