Archival storage of scientific and technical documentation (STD) is organised on the same principles as the archival storage of documents of other documentation systems. However, given the variety of STD and the role of these documents, all the problems of «ordinary» archiving become significantly more acute.
The seminar examines the current regulatory framework governing work with scientific and technical documentation in organisations of various forms of ownership, and the composition, types and formatting of STD in traditional and electronic form. It also sets out the procedure for recording and operational storage, creating information retrieval systems, the procedure for appraising STD and documenting its results, and the general requirements for STD transferred to state and municipal archives.
The seminar will be useful both to specialists of technical departments for forming files and organising their current storage, and even more so to heads of archives, archivists and other specialists of organisations that have an archive to which scientific and technical documents are deposited in addition to management documents.
